Mr W. - 76 years old

Bilateral Asymptomatic carotid artery stenosis

Reasons for carotid revascularization:

Bilaterality of lesions, planned coronary bypass graft

Reasons for carotid stenting:

Severe coronary insufficiency, bilaterality, respiratory disease

Risk factors and medical history

Smoking habits
HTN
Aortic stenosis
Coronary angiography : 3 vessels disease

Anti platelet therapy: ASPIRIN, CLOPIDOGREL

2 D echograph :

Severe right and left internal carotid stenosis

Planned carotid artery stenting procedure

Discussion of carotid site (left or right carotid stenosis) and protocol before cardiac surgery
Femoral approach, carotid protection under filter, evaluation of stenosis by intra vascular OCT (LIGHTLAB ST JUDE) and rotational angiography (PHILIPS), closed cells stent, femoral closing.
